Logitech Squeezebox Wi-Fi Internet Radio Receiver

Although some people have been able to establish this unit as a standalone system for its intended purpose as an extra "receiver" (Speaker driver) for the Squeezebox Duet system, which is a bundle of Squeezebox controller, and a Squeezebox Receiver. That is the system I have.
Logitech Squeezebox Duet Wi-Fi Internet Radio

Since my original system works well, I did not want the auxiliary unit to disrupt things. I wanted the ability to program different materials in two gameseach room, or synchronize with the program stream occasionally.

The SB-receiver works great along this line. I took it from the elegant set of Logitech, the connection is made to outputs and power-sound, and looked even configure it to my WPA2-protected network in about a minute. No sweat! As network passwords are stored in the SB controller, I do not have to go through the tedious routine of entering the password, continue with the help of the vertical scroll-wheel method.

I gaveThe SB-receiver has a new name with the Squeezebox server software that works very well with v 7.4.1 on my ReadyNAS Duo Network Attached Storage device, and everything was ready to go.
Netgear ReadyNAS Duo 2-Bay (diskless) Desktop Network Storage RND2000

The SB-receiver is in our living room, which is located a bit for space-saving. We wanted neither the money nor the space in the direction of full stereo receiver setup to put in this room, so we bought the Z-2300 powered speaker,by Logitech.
Logitech Z-2300 THX-Certified 200-Watt 2.1 Speaker System (Silver)

Though it is often used as a computer speaker system, it is THX certified and has a large (and heavy!) Subwoofer control. offers Coupled with the SB-recipient is deep and rich sound in our room and can not hurt to become the whole way without our ears! The SB-Receiver feed a clean signal to the speakers with the standard RCA left / right outputs (his twin in the otherRoom is equipped with a digital optical output, and it is difficult to distinguish the difference between the two).

The only question I encountered so far is with adding a second unit, that the Controller interface just a bit complicated. There is no one-button link between recipients switch to scroll and select, iPod-style. This in turn will sync with the implementation of lengthy operations such as the / desynching recipients. It is more a matter controllers, though, and not distractthe performance of the SB-receiver itself, which is more responsive and clean.

In truth, this is something that would hardly have worked before, her every five years, and it is impressive that a wireless product such as this can be performed without interruption, and even carry several program streams, with so few problems. I recommend it highly.

I have the Duet (part of which held by the regulator here I am checking) for about two years. Although I always thought it was very cool and useful, was it was difficult in the beginning and has suffered from inaccurate from the scroll wheel. Since the device was so useful, I overlooked the error. Other, as you can see from the reviews, could not overlook these shortcomings.

However, recent software updates have taken care of this. With the release 7.4.0 of the software, the user interface onthe controller has changed. The latest version, as I write this is 7.5.0. This is the version that I run after upgrading from 7.3.3.

The screen has changed and not like what is shown here look like. to read better use of screen real estate from simple text and a much larger display artwork made. The scroll wheel is very accurate now – do not exceed your selection. The controls are generally very responsive now.

I recommend this product, especially it will introduce the recent performance and usability enhancements through software updates.

Denon S-32 Internet Radio with Built-in Speakers and 2-Alarm Clock

Review

Some of the reviews on this product are mixed, and deal with a 150 bux, I decided to take a chance. Here are my first thoughts:

1st Not super easy to set up wireless (if you use security) – but it is doable .. And if you did, you receive a number of features that work well sweet: net-radio (with lots of selection, appointment of land, etc), the ability from your PC (or MAC-steam – more on that in a second) . Radio reception is also quite good. I have the radio on the floorand the next wireless router is one floor lower.
2nd Once connected to the network, good idea to get the firmware ASAP (which is a fairly simple, albeit time-consuming process update). I think it helps some of the other goblins.
2nd Sound is pretty good overall. We also have a iSonic table top, which we like very much. Between the two are the controls to navigate iSonic much easier and perhaps even the sound is even better (need more time listening to the Denon)
3rd Ipod connection ofinteresting, since the Denon, you can transfer music from your iPod, either directly or through the Denon controls … control a little confusing, but beautiful, have a choice. No charges for iPhone 3G. (The fee iSonic work!)
4th can no automatic time setting to work network. I have a call that escalated into Denon and waited to hear again.
5th Re Streaming of iTunes. This is entirely free and feasible. Just download Elgato EyeConnect. Free streaming audio (even after theDemo runs – you lose the video streaming only. I have already tested and it works fine. All of your playlists show, artists etc from iTunes on the Denon machine. Nice!

Logitech Wireless Music System for PC

Review

Let me start by saying that I have several Logitech devices in my house. I have the DiNovo Edge wireless keyboard, wireless trackball Trackman, a marble trackball mouse for my computer at work, and I have this nice little device (the Wireless Music System) that came in my time of need.
I bought the first time about 5 or 6 years ago, when I play my downloaded music on my stereo in my living room, without that it would burn to a CD first. It worked great for a whileuntil they show it, starting age and Logitech stopped supporting the software on two or three years. I had some "wireless keyboard support" Download Plug-in for Winamp to be able to use the remote control with this program. The only reason there is a rating of four instead of five because I was out of date as when I first noticed my wireless network in my house. I think the signal from my wireless router has a tendency to affect this unit, what the music too oftencut out. However, it can only because the distance between the transmitter and receiver, and that there is a wall or two in the road. Other than that, this is a great little system to have.
Logitech has come since then with the Wireless DJ system and more recently, the Squeezebox. I'm not sure how the latter system because I have no desire to pay the price for each of these units working. I am interested in upgrading to the Wireless DJ system, but I read somewhere thatLogitech stopped support for software upgrades that say as well (if I'm wrong, then someone please tell me).
Like I said, there are many new systems that you play music wirelessly from your computer to the source however you wish, as long as you have to invest the money to leave. Many of them are with your Wi-Fi based wireless router, but again I have no experience with them. Logitech is a great company, many useful devices, and I will continue to be a loyal customerfor the coming years.

AudioSource AMP-100 2-Channel Bridgeable Stereo Power Amplifier

Review

I was looking for a way to the eight speakers I have are looking to get in and out of my house from my Yamaha RX-V2700 receiver. I was the receiver's internal amplifier to power all the speakers (which can potentially harm the recipient himself .. dont do it if you can avoid it!). I was on a budget and this amp really on the bill. I have 2 of them (J & R Electronics renovated bought by Amazon) and tested both last night. I am glad to say that both worked correctly.

A few things:

This amp should be able to use A, B, or both * * A + B at the same time. This means I can either hear only in my living room (A) or my kitchen (B) or both of my living room and kitchen at the same time (A + B). If you are not working amplifier so, then there is something wrong with the receive from you.

Garbage in, garbage out. If you expect great sound from an iPodis that low quality mp3's on it … * * You will be disapointed. I noticed a significant degradation in sound quality, the speakers when I came to my house on a real amp. Once I got my UDACE Setup and could play all the lossless audio quality I have stored on my PC (usually WMA files), the sound is fantastic and an extreme improvement overall.

My setup is as follows:

PC Nuforce UDACE (purchased from Amazon here) to my receiver Yamaha RX-V2700 (older receiver does not happendigital signals 2nd/3rd zones). My PC is up, down receiver so I used a USB adapter to connect through the walls (75 ft Cat6a) and locate the Nuforce UDACE closer to my receiver running Ethernet. Zone 2 on the receiver from one of the audio source amp 100, Zone 3 on the recipient from the second AudioSource Amp 100 Then from the amplifier from the speakers throughout the house (garage / Back deck on an amplifier and a living room / kitchen on the second amp).

Feature

  • 2-channel 100-watt (50 watts x 2) power amplifier (provides 150 watts RMS bridged mono power)
  • Ideal for use as a second-zone amplifier or as a rear-channel amplifier in a 6.1- and 7.1-channel system
  • Pair of stereo inputs with priority override; A/B speaker selector allows multi-room amplification
  • Signal-sensing auto-on/off switching conserves power while simplifying setup
  • Measures 16.5 by 2.9 by 9.25 inches (W x H x D); 2-year warranty

Overview

50 Watt Power Amplifier for multiple Custom Home Audio Distribution and Home Theater Applications. Ideal for use as a remote amplifer, A single zone amplifier, or rear channel amplifier for Dolby 6.1 / 7.1 systems.

Specifications

A favorite of audiophiles everywhere, the AudioSource Amp 100 two-channel power amplifier is built to deliver powerful music, pure and simple, with few extra controls to get in the way. Listeners can use the Amp 100 as an independent stereo amp (50 watts x 2 into 8 ohms) when used with a preamp, as a second zone amplifier in multi-room applications, or as a rear-channel amplifier in a 6.1- and 7.1-channel system. Combine the Amp 100 with an additional monoblock amp (the Amp 100 delivers 150 watts RMS of bridged power) and a preamp and listeners can independently drive two front left/right speakers or two rear speakers, further clarifying each channel to create dynamic, high-end sound. To connect additional components to the amp, use the included stereo inputs with automatic priority override (for connecting to a source such as a receiver, CD player, or preamplifier) or the auxiliary output for creating a multi-amp setup.

The amp boasts a precise frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz and total harmonic distortion of 0.02 percent. Additional features include A, B, or A+B speaker selector switches, front-panel mounted volume and balance knobs, and five-way binding posts that work with both bare wire and banana plugs. Plus, at 16.5 by 2.9 by 9.25 inches (W x H x D), the device should fit comfortably in most rack mount or home entertainment setups. All AudioSource amps are backed by a two-year warranty on parts and labor.

Philips NP1100/37 Streamium Network Music Player with 3.0″ B&W Display

Review

I'm a geek, so if you are a fellow geek I suppose you find this review especially useful.

I had never heard of this device until I went through a local store and saw them on a closeout sale. When I went by it just looked like a nice clock, but when I saw it playing Internet radio, I had to get one.

I trust the brand, and Philips before you buy it I saw on the Amazon reviews and Amazon to see the price. The store was selling them to a considerableDiscount, and with it a rating of 4 out of 5 stars I knew I could not go wrong.

I had this thing could drag on my home network in about 5 minutes and was able to get music from my NAS device, which has logged a UPnP server, then pull up set I built several Internet radio streams. Now I do not have to have a wire to my computer from my speakers, I can only sit my Streamium ready to play.

I went back into the shop next week and saw that she had beenmarked down an additional $ 10 (pity I do not kepe my receipt). They had to do it not to nothing, but set within two minutes I had it connected in the business of the wireless network and an Internet streaming radio station. I showed a friend of mine who bought one on the ground.

I do not have a Rhapsody account and have not yet tried to use this functionality.

Things I like:
– An ordinary-looking Clock (disable this if you wish)
– The Clock isautomatically synchronizes the time with Internet time server
– Connects to wireless or wired networks
– Has an extensive list of Internet radio stations built
– You can other compatible radio stations via a web interface on a Philips site to add.
– RCA analog output, headphone output and coaxial digital output
– While listening to an Internet station can click on "Favorites" to the station added to your favorites
– Song / Artist data points to theScreen (if the station supports them / your files are poperly day)
– Built-in volume control (high, as the powered speakers I use do not have a remote)
– Brightness of the display is adjustable
– Elegant Design
– Easy firmware upgrades right from the device
– With the right software UPNP you can control this device from anywhere in your network. I have not even played with this extensively.

Things I dislike:
– Philips has its ownList of Internet radio stations that can change. If your favorite song disappears station, you must add it back manually.
– Browse the music collection at home can be tedious. If you only want one device for listening to MP3s, then there are certainly better devices out there. (I like XBMC software on a dedicated box)
– I'm not sure if it's my time zone or the new DST rules, but the clock is 1 hour after the off-switch. Once I disabled it summer time on the Clockbegan to display the correct time.
– Song / artist information scrolls extremely slowly
– No alarm clock function

Other things to note:
– The only button on the device is a power button. (Do not lose the remote!)
– Glossy attract fingerprints
– The device appears on a server at Philips for Internet radio information. This could mean that if these servers were always going down, that the unit would be able, Internet radio streams.Since we have to do with Philips, I do not see that happening, but it is something to be aware of.

Conclusion: I had this thing for about a month now and I love it. I actually bought a place to second, in my kitchen. For the price of a Squeezebox, you can one of them and an incredible amount of powered PC speakers. It looks as if Philips is no longer produced and have that model to those who migrated with built-in speakers. For those of us who have speaker systemsand would be an easy way to Internet radio or our want to get mp3s to play on it without using a computer for this purpose, this is the way to go!

This device is ideal for non-techies. Perhaps they have to help set it up initially, but then they should just fine. I have handed over the remote to many people, and they have had little or no problems navigating the Internet radio stations.

Feature

  • Compatible with Rhapsody music service (subscription required)
  • Stream digital music from your PC
  • Listen to hundreds of free Internet radio stations
  • Large 3″ B&W screen displays track and artist information
  • Remote control included

Overview

By connecting to both your PC and audio system, Philips Streamium network music player gives you wireless access to your PC music library, Internet radio and Rhapsody online music service. A whole world of exciting music possibilities!

Logitech Squeezebox Touch

Review

I bought my Squeezebox touch directly from Logitech, and I enjoy it enough in the first days of the property for a quick review to write.

To understand where I come from, it may be helpful to know, I enjoy classical music, especially when reproduced from a conventional stereo system with high-quality discrete components. I have a British designed and built integrated amplifier and some large floor-standing speaker from a Canadian manufacturer. Sound quality matters a lot tomy love of music, and it shows in the care with which I select the components in my audio system.

I have a number of previous Logitech Squeezebox WiFi streamers property, including the classic Squeezebox Duet Receiver and a few, I am not on the new Squeezebox ecosystem. I keep my music collection as a vast library of FLAC files encoded in order to avoid possible losses from the codec compression artifacts.

After receiving my new Squeezebox Touch, I swapped out toexisting "Slimdevices branded Squeezebox Classic in my main stereo system for the new device. The Squeezebox Touch MySqueezebox.com first discovered as a source of music and asked me, credentials, from which he was its firmware upgrade causes of this website. Then restart and it was unable to connect to my local Squeezebox server that I run in order to serve music around the house. Then I could browse my music collection and then navigate to Internet radio stationseither through the touch interface or via the supplied remote control.

I noticed that the interface automatically used if you have more control fonts from the IR remote control and smaller, if it you use it on the touch screen, which makes sense, of course, when you are down in an arm's length from the display.

In a first test, I played back a 96kHz, 24-bit high resolution copy of Marianne Thorsen on the violin soloist in Mozart with the TrondheimD-major Violin Concerto. At first I played the track on a Benchmark DAC1, a studio-quality monitoring DAC for use by mixing engineers. The sound was detailed, with rich stereo image with a deep and musical. Next I took the Benchmark DAC from the signal path and tried again. Once again the sound was much better than a CD and could be very close that rendered by the Benchmark DAC. It has clearly been an improvement in the quality of the analog stereoSqueezebox outputs to previous versions of the already quite good in comparison.

I then went on to Emanuel Ax, Itzhak Perlman and Yo-Yo Ma hear some Mendelssohn Piano Trios. This recording was "just thrilled" 16-bit/44.1kHz in CD-quality audio, but I was soon on the musicality of the performance and could find no significant short-coming of the quality, made by the integrated DACs such as the external comparison, studio Quality Benchmark DAC1.

The advantages over the existing Squeezebox Classic are:
* Color, touch-controlled user interface and display
* Abilityto play back high resolution music without quality loss
* Excellent audio quality of the analog outputs, much better than previous versions.

Another possible advantage is the Squeezebox Touch as a music server to use as a client by providing a USB hard drive to the USB port. I have not tested this functionality, I can not comment how well it works. This review was focused primarily on the sound.

Based on my brief experience, Irecommend this unit highly. I think it is a worthy successor to the Squeezebox Classic, as it offers considerably more in terms of user interface and sound quality for the same price as the older players.

  • Listen to an infinite variety of Internet radio stations, online music services, and your iTunes collection through your existing home stereo with this easy-to-use Wi-Fi music player
  • Enjoy easy station and music control from anywhere in the room with a full-color touch screen, intuitive menus and remote
  • Experience full, rich sound supported by high-resolution encoding
  • Connect seamlessly to your home network through Wi-Fi or Ethernet

As a complete Wi-Fi music system that can stream your MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV, and AIFF music files in high-performance sound; play AM, FM and Internet radio; automatically update the time via atomic transmission; and wake you up to a variety of ascending alarm sounds or your favorite Internet station or digital music, the SoundBridge has clear aspirations to be your bedside radio of choice.

Without needing any special software for your computer (PC or Mac), within a few minutes of breaking this five-pound radio out of its packaging you can be browsing through the music you have stored in your Apple’s iTunes, Real Networks’ Rhapsody, Windows Media Connect or Windows Media 10 music players. All you need is a wireless network with a broadband connection, and your digital music is yours for the asking. (However, because Apple doesn’t license its digital rights management code, SoundBridge — like most other non-Apple network media players — can’t play protected songs from the iTunes Music Store.)

In our test we set up an iMac G5 on our network running Apple’s iTunes. The radio, which is configured with Wi-Fi 802.11b but is 802.11g compatible, immediately recognized the network but took several tries before it successfully connected. (If your network is locked, the SoundBridge will ask for a password. And if you have access to more than one wireless network, the SoundBridge will give you the option of choosing which network to connect to.) Once online, the radio automatically updated the Roku software and was officially ready to perform. And for the remainder of our test over several days, we never once had another connection problem.

Diving straight into our iTunes folders, it didn’t take long for us to recognize the several play features that put the SoundBridge head and shoulders above many of its competitors. For starters, unlike other network players we’ve tested, the radio recognized our iTunes playlists, and a neat “song queue” feature let us easily create our own playlists with the radio’s remote. And as a huge brownie point, the SoundBridge not only categorized our songs by genre, title, artist and album (as most networks players do), it also queued up each song in the same order as they were originally placed their respective albums. Astoundingly, not all Wi-Fi players can make that claim.

Large, easy-to-access buttons — including a huge snooze bar — on the top of the radio make the SoundBridge an excellent clock radio option. View larger.

On the Internet radio front, SoundBridge doesn’t come out quite so well. While Roku’s marketing material claims “10,000 stations — No strings attached,” that wasn’t exactly our experience. The radio is pre-configured with dozens of Internet stations — all of which can be accessed without the computer powered on — and the radio has 18 pre-sets that offer quick access to the station of your choice. But to access the rest of the world’s Internet radio stations, you have to go through several somewhat tedious steps with Roku’s Web interface to configure them.

The strongest criticism of SoundBridge concerns its remote capabilities and navigation. The features of the SoundBridge are designed to be accessed both through the large, easy-to-access buttons on the radio itself, and via its basic 5.5 x 2-inch remote. Unfortunately, the remote works for some features, but not for others, and less-than-intuitive navigation makes things unnecessarily complicated.

The most glaring example of this problem is with the SoundBridge’s highly convenient “source” button located behind the radio’s conveniently huge snooze button. You hit the source button until you reach — you guessed it! — the music source of your choice. If you want AM radio, you tap the button until “AM Radio” appears on the radio’s display. Pretty simple, and just how it should be. However, if you are using the remote you must hit the “home” button, which then leads you to a navigation level that’s dependent upon the level you’re starting at. If you’re listening to AM radio, for example, and you want Internet Radio, the remote requires that you click several times through two additional navigation levels to make the switch. And there are other similar problems with the remote configuration and navigation.

Call us spoiled, but this can be a drag. Is it a deal breaker? Not by a long shot. The SoundBridge Radio is the first dedicated Wi-Fi radio that has the ability to serve your digital music collection, and it does it with a performance and convenience that should please most listeners. But at this price, and with thousands of examples of well-designed remote appliances to draw from, we would have liked these issues not to have been issues.

Pros:

  • Wirelessly delivers digital music and Internet radio from your PC or Mac
  • Linear magnetic speakers and woofers offer excellent sound performance
  • Alarm clock functions feature large, easy-to-access buttons and several alarm options, including Internet radio and digital music wake-up

Cons:

  • Poorly integrated remote control and difficult navigation
  • Internet radio stations somewhat difficult to configure

Creative Labs Xmod Wireless Music System with X-Fi Technology

Review

I bought this for an X-mas present, they were about four months. I was so with this product that I tried to give, it was satisfied with five stars, but it has its flaws (which I'll get to shortly), so I will not give it the "perfect" rating for what it might be in absolute terms. On more relative rating scales, if any other products I have purchased and use (the amount of benefits actually received compared to how well it has fulfilled the expectations, the value for me vs. theirCosts, etc.) It would be easy to earn the top grade.

PRO:

The first advantage is the quality and completeness of the physical items and even their packaging. Sturdy carton, as well as the inner two fields (one is for the sender and the other components for the recipient); nice foam padding for the units themselves, with individual boxes and plastic film for the cables, remote controls, their batteries, etc., even if you are not planning to use the package at any timesoon as a change, makes you hate their quality, just throw away.

The devices and accessories themselves are mostly built of good quality and attractive plastic, metal and rubbery with some parts. And I was really impressed with the functionality of the supplied parts, of which I have to go some to be purchased separately.

Currently, I am not using the supplied USB to mini USB cable between the PC and my notebook, the transmitting unit(Typically, both the audio and transfer the power from the PC to the device). I am instead of the supplied standard outlet plug with an adapter, just upstream at the mini-USB port on the transmitter. For the audio-in, I have the RCA connectors with the supplied cable, a 3.5 mm connector is connected at the other end.

With this configuration, a device with an audio-out could be to the sender (PC, TV, MP3 player, audio can be connectedReceiver, extension to these units). I use a Y-splitter with the appropriate adapters and extensions both a TV / external monitor and my notebook PC connected-up have, by their headphones Audio-Out connectors. If I want time to audio from another source, it is for me, the 3.5-mm extension from one of these devices (usually PC) and connect to my MP3 player or my Boombox / shelf audio player to easily separated. Takes maybe five seconds.

So much for the audio inputthe transmitter. Now I have the opportunity to hear the same sound in two different locations. To the sound in this master bedroom, I just the audio output of the transmitter. Of this 3.5-mm port can connect any powered speakers. I'm using the auxiliary setting my Boombox / shelf audio player that has RCA audio ports.

(This is with my own 3.5-to-RCA cable is made, but when I connected the transmitter directly to my PC and my TV and skippedother audio device options, I would like the cable supplied for this purpose instead of for the audio-in port. Basically, all cables and accessories for the various performance and audio-in options are included for both transmitter and receiver units, and as a bonus some that you can not use for any purpose other standard functions such as audio-out, speaker these units.)

Setting up and always sound from the wireless receiver, which is the same sizeand basic appearance as the sender is a lot easier. A second electrical connector included (similar to the transmitter) is used to power, but without the mini-USB adapter, because the device has only a standard power connector for this purpose. No need for audio-in ports, obviously, as that is what is the wireless. With the additional space that they contain the possibility of two types of audio-out ports: 3.5 mm and RCA. (I use the 3.5 mm for a set of powered PC speakers in the kitchen.)

Noweverything is in place and turned on, and it works like clay? So far, just great.

required in the master room, which I previously connected to the PC, the TV, and other audio devices directly from the shelf speakers player (with the same Y-adapter and changing compounds). Of course, these speakers are built much better than those in the TV and the laptop, and it was / is interesting if for two at the same time how much they sound, even if it is played outthe same set of speakers. By controlling the device itself
It is very convenient to be able to separately adjust their volumes, while they play simultaneously. (Just like now: Listen to an online music site as background music, working the mouse, keyboard and monitor on another website (Amazon), the occasional muffled videos to listen and vote the ball game on the TV that I can, at low-level set or fast again when something interesting happens. -OK, his baseball, and the Cleveland Indians, it is not so often, but it can be done quickly.)

None of this changes with the sensor in between the output devices and the speakers. I can not say with certainty how much improved the X-Fi sound, but I am sure that it does not hurt performance. And while I'm a cheap set of PC speakers are connected to the wireless receiver in the kitchen, I am with how the package works very satisfied. Also, approximately 30 feet, two interior walls and many plumbing of a bathroom and a kitchen between the sender and the receiver, I have never experienced any degrading or disturbances in the sound in the remote speakers. For you audiophiles I plan to test soon transport the entire system at a friend at home, as it can with a higher quality speaker system (again sounds like it separated quickly and easily moved and back again.) But now I have no reason to complain about the sound quality withthe wireless part.

The last pro that I have mentioned, is its functionality (or at least some of these attributes). The remote controls are small with few buttons and I've only played around with them a little, but I know they can turn them off and change to, or mute the volume, and even change from the remote receiver tracks on CD's or online listening stations. You do not need these features now, but maybe someday. What I like a lot of effort and the high volume / mute buttonespecially at the receiver in the kitchen. While aesthetically it looks great and maybe a little out of place, it is easy to find and change the volume size. Even better is that I always close the phone in the kitchen, so when I get a call it is a simple tap to mute and when the call is terminated other tap water they are immediately prior to the band.

CONS:

Well, no, the system is not perfect. First, as others have noted, the transmitter andReceiver units are a little big on the page. I think this is understandable in view of its many features and options (sound card, wireless, cable and outputs), and as I mentioned before, I think they look good, and the volume / mute button works best, as a large button.

As I just mentioned, while the remote controls have potential, I'm still on as they are functional is unclear. It would be nice if it screens and super simple guide had complete control of theAudio input (again, especially from the remote receiver unit). But I think this is really going on in the bonus area, if one considers the entire system costs only $ 45.

As I think I should also expect to control the volume, given the many different variables can be tedious. (I hear the master bedroom or the kitchen speakers? Or am I to hear both by back and forth between the two spaces? Since there is a loss of volume the more devices connected -including the system as a whole – how many and which devices are connected and are on? The PC Web site, the PC CD player, the TV, the MP3 player and / or the shelving system receiver? And of course the volume of different programs, recordings, advertising, etc. vary in audio equipment.) Some days I do not have much volume tugging.

The last Con, the one that reduces the absolute satisfaction to four stars, is mentioned by many reviewers, and myself in righteousness by the manufacturer. That is the problem of radio interference. A separate important note in the package recommending the units for at least three feet away from any wireless adapter (usually in the PC), and at least 10 meters from a wireless router.

I have not the severity of the problem, as some, but by experience and trial and error before I order the transmitter to five meters from the network router (which worked), and it is now in another room. I sometimes have problemsIf I order my notebook PC with integrated wireless adapter to get within a foot or two of the transmitter. In most cases the problem is actually with the Logitech wireless mouse I have connected the PC with a USB transmitter adapter. If the responsiveness of the mouse gets awkward because it came too close to the station it is easy to fix by keeping them further apart and unplugging and replugging the mouse wireless adapter.

The other problems require shutting down andRestart the PC, so I have ordered the equipment physically, so that does not happen anymore. And with all the extensions I am currently using, and considering that I now they go on all the time and have little reason, other than volume, to touch it, I could probably stretch the transmitter away from everything else, and even the final decommissioning mouse problem. Unfortunately at the moment I'm not a good place to move to the station, and for some people the most comfortable placebecause it is close to the network router that is a No-No. (As was the case with me until I changed the channel from a desktop PC or network router room to its present location with the notebook PC and TV / monitor.) There are some hints and suggestions for changing the frequencies of the wireless unity, but with the successful adjustments I've made, that is to try beyond my current wages.

CONCLUSION

I think that more than covers my experiences. Unless you really have noChoice in the placement of the transmitter near a router, or if money is no object to you and you can afford one of those much more expensive equipment (which I do not know how well they have to work), I recommend this Creative Xmod Wireless System under $ 50.
