Many of the problems that are not referred to, with the server, Netgear has to do with the package. Do not bother to use on the CD. Do not even bother, the new version from the Netgear website download, because it has questions.

Logitech Squeezebox Radio Music Player with Color Screen (Black)

Review

It will play radio stations from around the world. He treated my iTunes database, as is a separate database for music. You may favorites. 6 radio presets. It is the music on the SDHC card that I put my Squeezebox play touch. It is an ecosystem of humans building applications for Squeezebox and the radio. You can download it via buttons on the box or remote control player on your PC / MAC, or the remote control (optional). It's an accessory battery for mobile use(Optional).

The disadvantage is, however, pale in comparison to the features. You have to go online and use a Squeezebox to account to some features. You must go online to download the User Guide. There is an alarm signal that I do not use and I have heard that it is faulty. The sound quality is about as good as they get for a radio of this size. It is not in full-size stereo. The good news is that they do not overdo it, playing the bass or any tricks that sound appealing at first, but tiringquickly.

I think that most people should really try at least one of the Squeezebox products. At least for me it is a great step for my access to news and music world have been at my house. (I have two "Touch had" boxes and now a "Radio".

Cisco-Linksys WMB54G Wireless-G Music Bridge

Review

I was a little confused about all the advantages and disadvantages of the earlier criticisms.

My experience:

1st the sound of bridge work with my system (Windows Vista 32bit with admin rights, large wireless router Linksys WRT-54GL)
2nd the installation is far from plug and play – buy if you are not experienced with tricky installation of the program – not – you will be amazed!
3rd works with WPA2 and AES also
4th the sound quality is really good – but notDownload large files over WLAN while transmitting sound via wireless from your laptop on the Sound Bridge – The Sound be disturbed!
5th Supports Digital 5.1 Sound

as always – I found a very useful guide on the internet that works great for me!

Do just that, at every step!

1st Eject the installation CD with the music bridge (its useless for Vista is )…. I'm kidding, but you get the point.

2nd You have the Vista downloadcompliant installation utility and firmware upgrade from the Linksys forum – [...]

3rd Run the Vista driver setup to install the sound utility bridge – the "Install Utility" link at the bottom of the setup screen, but do not try to configure the router, since you only have to get it later to do it again.

4th Run the firmware upgrade for the router (it behaves exactly like the setup utility, but instead the configuration of the hardware for use, it upgrades the fimware) – Connect theSoundBridge with a LAN cable directly to your laptop (only for this firm ware upbrade )!!!!

5th Run configure the Vista driver setup of the router (only after firmware upgrade). Be sure that the configuration of the soundbrige (Network SSID and passphrase / WPA2, AES, ect.) Exact to your wireless router config! – I activited the DHCP mode of the Sound Bridge

6th Disconnect the sound bridge of LAN and a reset (power off) – it now works via WiFi

8th I would suggest to restart the computer now.

9th You could have a "WMB54G.exe has stopped running error" on reboot … that's ok

10th Open the DriverUtility on your block – for the bridge Misic scan -> click it and click the Connect button! The status changes associated

11th Select the new audio device for playback on your audio player (egwinamp): Windows System Configuration -> Sound -> Sound Playback: Select the "Wireless-G Music Bridge" speakers, the audio bridge is via RCA cable connected to your stereo.

Myine Electronics IR001 WiFi Internet Radio Adaptor

Review

This is my second internet radio, that mark and make first. First, it is super easy to set-up. I played stations within a few minutes after opening the box. I like that it automatically updates with the latest software. Enter my security code for my WiFi network was simple and then I left.

The number of stations were great as was the organization. This is very important when using any Internet radio. You are really paying for easy location andthen play stations from around the world. You should be able to globally search by region, country, genre, etc. and you can do when the user stops the entire list

But you can not find any of this for your favorite stations. For me it is a big gap in the radio. Once you have a favorite channel, it is simply a number, favorite channels 1, 2, 3, etc. Then when they go to your Favourites simply lists them and scroll up and down. My first internet radioallows you to search would look for the favorites in the same way for all stations. For example, the radio, I have scattered a number of stations throughout the Celtic my favorite. No problem. Go to Favorites, choose a search by genre, Celtic and find them all. This is the AIRMM01 Aluratek Internet Radio Alarm Clock with built-in WiFi (Black)

As for the sound. Well this has no speakers. So it's as good as the sound system you plug it in. I have such a converter is suppliedfor sound systems with individual audio inputs. The radio is also very small, looks nice, and the included remote control is also simple and small but useful. Really good on internet radio, as long as you have something to have it to the plug. The most popular search thing is annoying because I listen to favorite end as much as the search for new stations over at a certain point. But the general quality of the device and simple set-up and easy use for me after a few months, this is a recommendedProduct overall.

Sonos BU150 Multiroom Music System

Review

I had the Squeezebox Duet for about a year in property and its use in the music control one or two rooms. (I have a cable connection between the two rooms, which I have to switch to a manual control.) Basically, I hear music from the Internet-based provider Rhapsody. Although I like the look and feel of the Squeezebox system and controller, it would not work reliably in my two-story house where I have a wireless router upstairs and down using a Squeezebox Receiver. Every day or two, the remote controlController would lose contact with the recipient (or perhaps the recipient would lose contact with the router), and I was forced to try to reset the system. Sometimes resetting process was relatively easy (just turn switch on the controller, and then again, what a minute or so last was), but more often it is quite costly, requires me back into the router's 22-digit security code by using the controller's wheel to through all possible combinations of upper and lower case, scrollLetters, numbers and punctuation marks. Even then it would connect, sometimes not, and I would give up in frustration. The Logitech support people were great, and they even gave me a new system to try, but it still crashes.
Finally, I decided to try the Sonos system instead, even though it was considerably more expensive than the Squeezebox. I was a bit of money by buying only three pieces: the Sonos Zone Bridge 100 (which connects via Ethernet cable to save myRouter on the floor), the Sonos ZonePlayer Z90 (which is a direct connection to my amp down, I'm using an optical cable, can improve the sound quality) and an iPod touch 8 GB (2nd Generation) as a wireless controller. I saved more than $ 180 by purchasing the iPod Touch instead of the Sonos wireless controller (actually $ 220 because I do not buy the charger for the Sonos controller). I am much happier with the new system.
Setup was fairly easy compared to theSqueezebox. Getting the iPod Touch as a wireless controller work was the difficult part. After completing the setup for the Sonos components that was simple, I get the iPod to my computer and have connected my iTunes program (I already opened two other iPods). I had to say, not sync to my iTunes music on this iPod, because I want to use it only as a controller for Sonos. Then in iTunes, I went to the iTunes Store and searching for "Sonos iPhone app." This search yielded two results, but one was a podcast. I downloaded the other, simply "Sonos Controller" and then dubbed it the iPod Touch with iTunes. After ejecting the iPod from iTunes, I started with the Sonos Controller on the iPod. Eventually I was asked that all too familiar 22-digit security code to give to my router, but this time it was much easier, as I input it was on a virtual keyboard on the iPod screen, instead of using try to Squeezebox-wheel system. It was helpfulWatch the video demonstration of the Sonos Sonos controller on an iPhone (on the Amazon-screen description of the Sonos BU150 Multiroom Music System Found to be seen), including volume controls, etc.
There are several advantages of the Sonos / iPod system, compared to the Squeezebox and two disadvantages. Advantages: 1) the Sonos / iPod system will not crash (but I had ceased to be a difficult problem after several weeks of use: Rhapsody's list of my favorite channels to work, and we tried to remove theRhapsody service from Sonos, and then bring them back. If I have to try it again, the Rhapsody server refused to accept my username and password. Getting started took that fixed three long phone calls with Sonos and Rhapsody, and more than 24 hours downtime.), 2) the iPod its charge for about five days in normal use, holds in comparison to a day or so for the Squeezebox remote control, 3 ) It is much easier for the music with the iPod's virtual keyboard search unpleasant wheel is against the Squeezebox, and thisDifference is huge because the search for Squeezebox music was so difficult that I almost never did it, and 4) I could slide the iPod in his pants pocket and carry it around the house without fear of a fall or accidentally pressing buttons, the station's power, however, is the Squeezebox Controller too large to be comfortable in the pocket, and if I have to insert there, I would be very likely to push buttons and produce some undesirable activity. Disadvantages: 1) the Sonos / iPod systemwill cost me about $ 330 more than I would have paid if I had bought a new Squeezebox Duet, 2) the iPod goes into a partial shutdown mode after 50 seconds when I change so the volume or track setting, takes there is more (a total of about 6 seconds) to these processes with the Sonos / iPod system, when I first time on the iPod (by pressing a button and sliding my finger across the screen rotate to wait) and then, right up there with the Sonos power back.

Netgear EVA700 Digital Entertainer

Review

I bought two of these EVA 700 six months ago, and I'm happy with the product – to a point. The video, music and photo options work well when paired with a media server quality. The best I have found from Helios. TVersity also works, but not so good. The server software that comes with the product is considered junk, the server software that comes with Windows Media Center. I was not able to get the Viiv feature to work. Nevertheless. VOB and. DivX video playback functionsalso music encoded in MP3, if the source is resident on a quality PnP server product. I agree with many of the other comments here that this product is not intended for non-technical users. I spent months finding the right software for the server and setting up the files, so the menus work well. Nevertheless, it can happen. The only disappointment is that I have the video playback is a little unstable. The video / audio sync gets out sometimes, but can be corrected by stopping theStart playback and then. The video playback software sometimes slips and jumps a half-second playback. Play the same files on my computer results in none of these problems. On the other hand, I have tried some other media player before I had this, and I am convinced that the best on the market (with the possible exception of the EVA 8000). None of these products are currently ready for prime time use by non-technical users.

Apple Airport Express

Review

After the airport is set up correctly is awesome. I use it to play music and it makes a great job. It is so small that its easy to separate and bring it up to my other stereo as well. Much cheaper than a Sonos and so do pretty much the same. The size makes it possible to be portable as well.

The setup was pretty painful. The airport was not recognized by my computer to the AirPort Utility and it took me a while to find out. I have a Linksys Wireless-G router and aWindows 7 computer, which may have been a problem.

Basically the best way to set it up, the utility has a hard wire Ethernet instead of wireless, as I tried to run. Once you have it setup by hard wire to separate you and it will probably work. took me several hours of frustration, to find out.

Good luck, I will even tell you that it works its worth it. The free Apple Remote app for the touch or the iPhone makes it really great. I wish Apple InsertON / OFF button on it. the only way to turn off is to disconnect it.

Feature

  • Take the music from the iTunes library on your computer and sends it wirelessly to any stereo or speakers in your home
  • Print wirelessly through AirPort Express–it’s almost like having a printer in every room of the house
  • Wirelessly share photos, movies, and other files without having to worry about slow data transmissions
  • The AirPort Express Base Station now features 802.11n, the next-generation high-speed wireless technology included with most shipping Mac computers and some newer PCs with compatible cards
  • Industry-standard encryption technologies built into AirPort Express, including WPA/WPA2 and 128-bit WEP, plus a built-in firewall that creates a barrier between your network and the Internet

Overview

Now with blazing 802.11n, the affordable AirPort Express is powerful enough to run a home Wi-Fi network, yet small enough to take on the road. Share your wireless network with up to 10 users, print documents, photos, and more from any room in the house to one central printer, play iTunes music through your stereo or powered speakers using AirTunes, and more.
